HIP Online Civics Based Education

The Medal of Honor module has launched.
This is a special module, close to our hearts as it teaches about the Medal of Honor.
HIP (an acronym for Honor, Integrity, and Patriotism) is a civics-based education platform with new lessons continuing to roll out.

Students Empowered with Encouraging Message & ExperienceCAV LIVE Civics MOH Lesson May 7th

On May 7th, 684 students, educators, and parents were reached through our LIVE and Online Civics-Based Ed Program, where 217 students were hosted inside of CAV’s Portraits of Valor Gallery. Medal of Honor Recipient, Major Drew Dix delivered remarks followed by a series of questions in the gallery and online to students across Colorado and 5 other states. Many students stated it was a "life-changing" experience.

OnValues On The Road in Wyoming - May 3, 2024Drew Dix in Wyoming

 

Major Drew Dix, Medal of Honor Recipient, and the Center for American Values (CAV) received a warm Wyoming welcome from Sublette County students, veterans, and citizens this past week. Over 1,000 students from Pinedale and Big Piney filed into Pinedale Wrangler Gym or joined online Tuesday for an engaging and uplifting address presented by Major Dix.


Local Clear Out West Radio Host Andy Nelson emceed the event, the American Legion & Pinedale FFA Officers Posted the Colors, the High School Choir sang the National Anthem, and Randy Belton provided the Invocation.


Special guests attending included Wyoming Speaker of the House Albert Sommers, the American Legion, CAV Board Member Henry Jones, CAV Executive Director Sparky Turner, Kim Monson with the Kim Monson Show from Lonetree, Colorado, and numerous local officials.


Lis Richard, the CAV Education Director provided an overview on the Medal of Honor for the students and assisted with a robust series of questions from students to Major Dix.


Robin Schamber and the Sublette BOCES hosted the event with support from Marathon Oil, Jonah Energy, PureWest, MPLX LP, and other local donors.

CAV Hosts Heritage ElementaryHeritage Elementary

 

Thirty-four Heritage Second Graders took part in a CAV Live Class at the Center on Thursday, April 18. Education Director, Lis Richard, provided an interactive lesson on Honor, Integrity, and Patriotism and heroism. Noted as an exemplary group of students, the class ended with a Walk of Valor.

HIP Education

Educational outreach focused on the Center's Core Values of Honor, Integrity, and Patriotism (HIP) are used to provide unique classroom resources for parents and educators at all levels. Students are empowered to identify and define the character attributes that relate directly to American values. State-of-the-art technology and interactive audio/visual modules enhance the learning experience.


HIP Online Civics Based Education

This learning management system and delivery platform is a multi-media experience to exponentially expand the reach of HIP Education to students throughout the Country. On Values Speaker Series and Narratives Project

Medal of Honor recipients and noted speakers from all walks of life help bring new awareness to a variety of subjects intended to educate, inform, and create discussion about the significance of American values. Their presentations are captured and archived for the Center's Narratives Project which is evolving into a one of a kind audio/video library. Speakers who have shared their extraordinary stories include: James P. Owen, Wall Street veteran and author of Cowboy Values  and Cowboy Ethics; James Humes, author and White House speechwriter for five presidents; Corey Ciocchetti, Professor of Ethics, University of Denver; Michael Sabbeth, Esq., author of How to Talk with Children About Values; Fisher DeBerry, Hall of Fame Air Force Football Coach; Michael Strobl, author of Taking Chance; Dr. Rick Rigsby, author of Lessons from a Third Grade Dropout; Kathryn Childers, First Female Secret Service Agent.


Exhibits and Gallery Tours

The Center for American Values hosts and promotes conferences, seminars, continuing education, and community events that align with our Mission, Vision and Core Values. The Center is also available for private tours and other events.


Medal of Honor "Quotes" Book

The Center for American Values has published a book of Medal of Honor quotes, subtitled "Inspiration from America's Military Heroes." The publication features a collection of quotes that reflect the honor, courage and humility of our most decorated war heroes.
